Quarters are 3D subdivisions of towns that possess their own permissions. They allow towns to create areas that do not require whole plots, such as apartments, or which need to encompass multiple plots.
Quarters can be created by residents ranked mayor
, comayor
or planner
.
Because quarters are made from cuboids, creating a quarter requires selecting the two corners of each of its cuboids. There are two ways of doing this:
/q pos1
at the cuboid's first corner and /q pos2
at the second corner./q pos1 0 5 0
selects the position 5 blocks above youOnce you have selected a cuboid, type /q selection add
. This will outline the cuboid with particles. If you find that you made a mistake, reset your selection using /q selection clear
. Repeat the process to add more cuboids to the selection.
(!) Quarters cannot overlap, be in multiple towns or contain Wilderness.
Once you have finished adding cuboids to the selection, type /q create
to create the quarter. You can then change its particle outline colour using /q color <r> <g> <b>
, or disable it using /q toggle constantoutlines
.
/q here
to see information about the quarter you are standing in./q sell <price>
to put it for sale. Players can then enter the quarter and purchase it by typing /q claim
. You can take a quarter off sale using /q sell cancel
./q toggle embassy
./q trust
. Trusted players have full permissions to a quarter./q unclaim
./q evict
./q delete
to delete the quarter you are standing in.
Like plots, there are different quarter types which can be assigned to quarters using /q type <type>
.
Type | Description |
---|---|
Apartment |
Default quarter type. All other quarter types inherit the functions of this type. The quarter's owner, anyone they have trusted, and anyone with permissions to the quarter's underlying Towny plots have permission to alter it. |
Public | Grants build , destroy , switch and itemuse to all residents of the quarter's town. These can be extended to non-residents by setting the quarter to an embassy ( /q toggle embassy ). |
Commons | Like a Public plot, but only grants switch and itemuse permissions. |
Worksite | Like a Public plot, but only grants build and destroy permissions. |
