Resource extraction is a mechanic/process in Slimefun that allows you to gather useful and high-tier resources from the ground, such as Oil, Nether Ice, and Uranium.
The resource extraction process takes place from chunk to chunk. Each chunk has a different, random amount of resources ready to be gathered. Resources in a depleted chunk are never regenerated for that world.
In order to extract resources, however, you will first need to scan the chunk you are about to extract resources from. Click here to learn about chunk scanning.
The following devices are used in the process of resource extraction. They must be connected to both an energy network and a GPS network.
The Oil Pump is used for extracting Oil.

The Geo Miner is used for extracting Nether Ice, Uranium, and Salt.

After crafting the necessary components for resource extractions, (as shown above) you can begin the process.
Oil is an advanced resource; it is used as fuel or for recipes such as Plastic, and can be refined to Fuel in the Refinery. Both Oil and Fuel will produce energy in a Combustion Reactor.
Oil can be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Overworld by using an Oil Pump. Place the Oil Pump in the scanned chunk and put empty Buckets in its input slots. The Oil Pump will then extract Buckets of Oil from the chunk until they are depleted.
Nether Ice is an advanced resource, primarily used to craft Nether Ice Coolant Cells, an essential resource used in the Nether Star Reactor, a high-tier energy Generator.
Nether Ice can be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Nether by using a Geo Miner. Place the Geo Miner in the scanned chunk. The Geo Miner will then extract Nether Ice from the chunk until it is depleted.
Alternative to crafting, Small Chunks of Uranium can also be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Overworld by using a Geo Miner. It is typically found in lower amounts than the other resources.
Small Chunks of Uranium can be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Overworld by using a Geo Miner. Place the Geo Miner in the scanned chunk. The Geo Miner will then be able to extract Small Chunks of Uranium from the chunk until they are depleted.
Alternative to crafting, Salt can also be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Overworld by using a Geo Miner.
Salt can be gathered from a scanned chunk in the Overworld by using a Geo Miner. Place the Geo Miner in the scanned chunk. The Geo Miner will then be able to extract Salt from the chunk until it is depleted.
