Not to be confused with the Turret class used on Nations and the Movecraft server.
The Turret is a utility craft. It can be built on the ground or as a subcraft. It is a structure that can rotate a smaller part of a larger craft (it must be a subcraft). It cannot move, only rotate.
Turrets shine in controlling entire parts of a ship, because of their ability to rotate anything built as a Turret (using the Subcraft Rotate
sign).
Block requirements and limitations:
Button * (+ Stone) | Chest | Comparator | Concrete | Dispenser | Door * (+ Iron) | Furnace |
Glowstone | Iron Bars | Iron Block | Jungle Fence | Ladder | Lever | Note Block |
Observer | Piston | Pressure Plates (minus Stone) | Redstone | Redstone Block | Redstone Lamp | Redstone Torch |
Repeater | Signs | Slab * (+ Brick, Cobblestone, Stone) | Snow | Stairs ^ (minus Stone) | Sticky Piston | TNT |
Torch | Tripwire Hook |
After building a smaller part of a craft that you want to rotate, you can identify it as a Turret in order for it to be used.
Place a sign on the Turret and write Subcraft Rotate
on the first line, and Turret
on the second line. This will allow the Turret to be controlled/rotated while piloting the larger craft that it was built on.
Make sure that the Turret's blocks are different from the blocks it is touching on the larger craft—provided that they are made out of allowed blocks on the larger craft. Alternatively, you can separate the Turret from the larger craft with a layer or wall of unique blocks allowed on the larger craft.
