Not to be confused with town sieges.
Movecraft Sieges (or Naval Sieges) are a type of ship-only warfare fought for access to natural naval chokepoints around the map and passive daily income.
There exist 5 Siege Regions on the map, where Naval Sieges may take place. Four of these are naval-based, while one is ground-based.

To begin a Movecraft Siege, you must first bring a ship of an eligible craft class inside the Siege Region within a time of the Siege Window. You can also check whether the Siege Window is active by typing /siege info (name of siege region)
in-game.
Then you can enter /siege begin
while piloting the craft, to start the Movecraft Siege. You cannot begin the siege if the Siege Region is already being besieged, or if you are already besieging another Siege Region.
A countdown will then start. After the countdown finishes, the siege begins. Sieges last for 30 minutes.
To win the siege, you must be piloting your ship fully inside the siege region when the siege timer ends. A Bedrock border at y level 100 or 120 will mark the borders of the Siege Region.
You will lose the siege if any of the following events occur:
Controlling a Siege Region means that money will be deposited into the controlling player's balance, every 24 real-life hours.
You can receive a bonus payment called the war chest after winning a naval siege. When a craft is sunk inside a siege region during a siege, it increases the siege's war chest by ($0.3 x size of craft) – equivalent to the cost of printing the craft using a Shipyard. The war chest is awarded to the attacking player if they win the siege, otherwise to the region owner.
A craft sinking only increases the war chest if:
Winning a siege will also give you access to the Siege Region's corresponding Naval Town, if it has one.
For 3 natural naval chokepoints, the map has Naval Towns (marked with an anchor on the Dynamic Map) that players cannot normally access. These are server towns: the mayor is an NPC, and upkeep for these towns is supplied by the server.
Naval Town | Coordinates (X, Z) | Siege Region to Control |
Bab al-Mandab | 5200, -1550 | Indian Ocean |
Gibraltar | -700, -4300 | Atlantic |
Suez | 3900, -3600 | Mediterranean |
Panama Canal | Mid-Atlantic |
After a successful Naval Siege, the winner is granted access to the corresponding town and its plots, where they may place and break blocks, open chests, etc. (the winner is given all permission types inside the town, and the plots become the winner's embassy plots in the Naval Town).
If the corresponding Naval Siege Region is conquered by another player, the previous winner loses access to the town, and the new one is granted access to it.
