There are 26 custom crops on Nations, which produce ingredients required by many Slimefun foods and some Brewery recipes. Slimefun foods can be found under the “Agriculture” section of the Slimefun Guide (/sf guide
).
Seeds for custom crops occasionally drop from broken grass plants.
Custom crops must be planted on farmland, and will only grow if it is hydrated. They are also subject to the realistic plant growth mechanics, meaning they require natural (or UV) light and a suitable biome to grow. To see if a plant will grow in a biome, hold it and left-click on a farmland block.
Once fully grown, crops need to be harvested:
Harvesting can be semi-automated:
The yield of a crop refers to the maximum number of extra items and experience it will drop when fully grown and harvested.
Yield is increased by applying fertilizers to growing crops. Apply fertilizer by holding it in your hand and right-clicking a growing crop.
Fertilizer | Yield Modifier |
---|---|
Bone Meal | +1 |
Organic Fertilizer | +2 |
Organic Fertilizer (optimal) | +3 |
Applying the optimal type of Organic Fertilizer to a plant will also increase its growth speed by 30%.
Seed Extractors convert vegetables and fruits to their sapling/seed form in a 6:1 ratio.
Fertilizer Sprinklers are electric machines that automatically apply Organic Fertilizer to nearby crops when they enter the growth stage.
Machine Tier | Radius (blocks) | J/plant |
---|---|---|
I | 3 | 8 |
II | 7 | 16 |

Below is a list of crops, their base growth and regrowth times, and optimal fertilizers.
Negative growth modifiers in biomes are reflected by growth times longer than the base.
Custom crops grow more slowly than vanilla crops. However, unlike vanilla crops, they will grow even while unloaded.

The Noxesium mod for Fabric is reported to greatly reduce the lag from plant models.
If plant models still unacceptably affect your game's performance, you can replace them with textured heads using /toggleplantmodels
