Torpedo launchers are a cannon variant which fire torpedoes, water-bound projectiles which can inflict severe damage to naval crafts upon detonating.
When fired, torpedoes ascend or descend to y-level 62. Upon contact with water at this level, they will activate and travel in a straight line until they hit a block, causing them to detonate.
Torpedoes may be used in conjunction with the sequential firemode, allowing them to be fired one-by-one rather than all simultaneously. It is possible to make just torpedo launchers fire sequentially by using /firemode sequential [name of torpedo launcher design]
.
Torpedoes add torpedo firepower (TFP) to their craft. Crafts can have a TFP limit which restricts the total number of torpedoes that can be added to them.
TFP is separate from regular cannon firepower. Some crafts - namely corvettes, destroyers and bombers - can exceed their TFP limit, but each excess point of TFP will consume 3.34 points of regular firepower. This means they can sacrifice their other cannons (e.g. naval guns) for extra torpedoes.
The Standard Torpedo Launcher fires standard torpedoes. It can be used on the:
TFP: 3
Ammunition chests can be placed next to the Observer.
The Heavy Torpedo Launcher fires heavy torpedoes, which are slower but more powerful than standard torpedoes. It can be used on the:
TFP: 4.95
Ammunition chests can be placed next to the Observer.
The Submarine Torpedo Launcher fires submarine torpedoes. It is exclusive to the Submarine and serves as its primary weapon.

The Bomber Torpedo Launcher fires bomber torpedoes. It is exclusive to the Bomber.
Ammunition chests can be placed next to the Chiseled Stone Bricks.
